The basic deal: You can browse, read, and submit projects. Don’t be a jerk, don’t break things, and understand this site is provided as-is.

Using the site

You’re free to:

  • Browse and read all published projects
  • Submit your own projects for consideration
  • Share links to individual projects
  • Quote projects with attribution

Don’t do these things

  • Scrape the site. Don’t use bots or automated tools to copy content in bulk.
  • Harass contributors. Don’t track down submitters or contact them uninvited.
  • Submit false information. Don’t make up projects or impersonate others.
  • Break things. Don’t try to hack, overload, or mess with the site’s functionality.
  • Republish in bulk. Don’t copy the entire archive and republish it elsewhere.

The site is provided “as-is”

We do our best to keep the site running smoothly, but:

  • Sometimes it might be down for maintenance or technical issues
  • There might be bugs or formatting glitches
  • Links to external projects might break over time
  • Content might be removed or updated without notice

We’re not liable if something doesn’t work perfectly. It’s a small operation.

Content disclaimer

Projects at Rest displays stories about abandoned projects. Some of them describe difficult experiences—burnout, failure, health issues, financial stress.

We curate carefully, but we can’t control how any particular story might affect you. If you find something upsetting or triggering, that’s understandable, but it’s not our responsibility.

We don’t verify every detail in submitted projects. They’re told as contributors understood them.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Projects at Rest isn’t liable for:

  • Emotional distress from reading content
  • Technical issues, downtime, or lost data
  • Accuracy of submitted projects
  • Third-party links or content
  • Any damages beyond what you paid to use the site (which is nothing)

We can remove content

We reserve the right to remove any project, comment, or submission for any reason, including:

  • It doesn’t fit the curation standards
  • It violates someone’s rights
  • The contributor requests removal
  • It contains false or harmful information

We can suspend accounts

If you violate these terms—especially harassment, scraping, or submitting false information—we can suspend or ban you from submitting future projects.

Other policies

These terms work alongside our other policies:

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Mexico, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes will be resolved in New Mexico courts.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and note the date at the top. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
